A Barnyard Bash for a One Year Old Cowgirl
For Ellie Critz’s 1st birthday, her parents wanted to do something that would work well with boys and girls of various ages. After a few email exchanges we came up with a Barnyard theme — Ellie Critz’s grandfather is a farmer so they found this to be a fitting for their little cowgirl. We enlisted our friends at The Little Red Barn to bring out their mobile petting zoo for the children to enjoy. Then I got to work planning the details! Once I designed the invitation, I admit to going a bit crazy with this one. It was such a fun theme! We used a color palette of red and turquoise to keep it a bit girly and added lots of little touches like Mason Jars for drinking glasses, little flatware sleeves that read “good grub”, a custom made birthday cowgirl hat for Ellie Critz, handmade cupcake toppers and kid sized picnic tables for the munchkins to eat their food. Each guest went home with their own little gift box of farm animals and stickers and their very own cowboy hat as a memento.
Throughout the morning, the kids took turns riding the mini horse and petting all of the different animals. There were bunnies, baby pot bellied pigs, sheep, goats, an alpaca, and even a real live rooster who announced his arrival with a very loud “cock-a-doodle-do!” Ellie Critz toddled around the makeshift “barnyard” saying “moo” each time she met a new animal. A light brunch was served for all and it was a very laid back and relaxing morning event. The party concluded with a chorus of “Happy Birthday” and a round of delicious Strawberry Lemonade Cupcakes from Marietta’s Sugar Plum Visions.
I was late packing up and getting home because I spent a bit of time talking to Ellie Critz’s mommy learning the amazing journey they went through to adopt their daughter. This is one little girl whose parents feel very blessed to have her in her life and she is an absolute doll! He mommy’s eyes shone as she spoke of her daughter and gushed over how pleased she was with the way the event turned out. It was a party fit for a barnyard princess indeed!

Love this party. I really love the jars and the wrapping the the forks and spoons. Very cute!
Can you tell me where you got the stickers for the bottled water / party favor tags, and also the plates (red and turquoise) cupcake toppers… are they stamps or stickers you used? I love the color scheme. I am doing a barnyard party for my daughters 5th birthday. I cannot find your print on line for the above…
Thanks!
